..............uncle tom. Uncle Tom bought her this outfit
before we even knew she was going to be a girl
we found it at a farmers market in salt lake last may
and it claims to be for 18 month old children
may i remind you, hazel is only 3 and a half months
and it appears to fit wonderfully
either she is super chubby, or the sizes are way off
or perhaps a little of both
but wow
i just loved this look
she is still being a little dream baby
and such a joy to be around
with smiles and giggles whenever we do something silly
like spin the fan or dance for her

hooray for strawberries in season!!!

we found a flat of strawberries for $6.99
wahoo
in the off season it is like $4.99 for a little box
and they don't even taste sweet
but these were perfect
so on a date night
i snuck into the kitchen
and made us some chocolate dipped strawberries
not just any chocolate dipped strawberries
but we used guitard chips (which are by far the best)
what a heavenly, romantic treat
we loved them so much we have made them twice since
and shared with guests

delicious dinner

the other night a made cous cous with carrots
and garam masala/coconut chicken
totally hit the spot

hazel made her on stage debut

on saturday hazel was in seussical
that's right, dr. seuss the musical
she made for an adorable elephant bird
and a bit stressful day as parents
trying to time her good moods perfectly for when she is on stage
but she performed wonderfully
without a single cry
and blew little bubbles on stage
she was such a hit!

brandon did a dance for her
or rather several variations of dances
while packing a few things up
and she just smiled and made these cute noises
then she did this little giggle
and brandon and i looked at eachother
and we swear it was a laugh
we couldn't stop laughing and neither could she
it was wonderful
just a fun parenting moment
i loved it

Brandon got the JOB!!

we are officially moving to New Hampshire
brandon signed all the papers and we are packing up
crazy how that works
he will be designing for nemo equipment

brandon's try out

so brandon went to nashua, nh
for an interview/ try out
they basically liked his stuff
and wanted to know if he was a cool guy
so they went on an adventure climbing a mountain
it looks beautiful there!

she smiles all of the time
and does cute gurgling noises
i'm so fascinated by to concept that
when babies sleep more during the day
they sleep better at night
she'll sleep a good 9 hours at night now
and takes regular naps when i am good to put her down
i wonder why that works
maybe just too well rested to be grumpy
who knows, i'm just thankful

Love Her

seriouly, i'm easy to entertain
she kept yawning the other day when she was getting up from a nap
thought it was the cutest thing and had to capture it
she has decided that she no longer wants to take a bottle
oops...need to practice that one more
although, she took one from me the other day
but she is finicky...
we're headed to my prof's house tonight
he is my furniture design teacher
and does all kinds of amazing wood working
and has his students over every semester
should be a good time
and amelia has a concert this weekend
with only her choir
which is nice for a change
i'm excited

we gave her a little bath this morning
with this cute towel that lori made for her
perfect little butterflies to match her room and all
i love her smell right out of the bath
such a perfect baby smell
nothing better
and brandon doing his vogue pose
and her with a big grin
if i can catch her in the right mood
and get eye contact
she will look at me, look down to my lips
and if i am smiling
she will do a big grin back
what a great feeling!

her new discover of the last few days
she loves to shove her fist in her mouth
not just suck on her thumb, the whole fist
funny girl
it is adorable
but then you lift her
and see a huge puddle of drool on your shirt
nice...
still cute though, don't mind as much when it's your own kid

we went shopping for my birthday on monday
turned 23! weird
but we were at nordstrom and found these
she kept begging me to buy them
i had to explain that you can't have everything
but she can borrow mine when she wants to

hiking the y

we went for a little hike up Y mountain
hazel's first
she basically slept right through it
oh well, one way to get her to nap
which she is currently doing
what a difference it makes
for babies to take regular naps
thanks mom for pointing that out
and she is smiling
as in you look at her and smile and she does it back
makes me so happy

she has these little ears on the hat and everything
and was just conked out in her fav chair
i LOVE that chair

family walk

on saturday it was so beautiful we couldn't resist
threw hazel in a little carrier we are borrowing from a friend
and wandered to the provo library
(you can get free movies, often strange movies, but free!)
and brandon and i each got a book
and a few movies
i even have one that teaches me to crochet!
ha...i've become so crafy...i need to get out of utah
my plan is to make hazel a little crocheted flower for a headband
...back to our walk
we had to take a pic to show the gorgeous mountains
and the pretty library in the background
it was so much fun
then amelia joined us on the way back and we had a waxing party
then that night brandon took me out
what a wonderful weekend!

first time we got a sitter...well....mom

this was actually a few weeks ago
February 9th I think
my mom was in town and watched hazel for the day
so brandon and I could go snowboarding
i was supposed to teach him
too bad i hadn't worked out like that in like 6 months
my quads killed
but i still succeeded in teaching him a few things
but he caught on so fast i didn't have to do much
we goofed around and played in the snow
and teased each other about our mad skills
and we made it back in one piece
note to self: next drive into the mountains
bring your 4 wheel drive car...

Date Night!

we went out on saturday
got a free coupon to go to smokehouse bbq
so i got a little gussied up
and brandon did a photo shoot
we shared these enormous portions of
rib, brisket, and a corned beef sandwich
it was soooo good and soooo much food!
although for a birthday coupon you would think they would sing
but to my dismay...no singing
oh well
