she discovered her hands

her new discover of the last few days
she loves to shove her fist in her mouth
not just suck on her thumb, the whole fist
funny girl
it is adorable
but then you lift her
and see a huge puddle of drool on your shirt
nice...
still cute though, don't mind as much when it's your own kid

we went shopping for my birthday on monday
turned 23! weird
but we were at nordstrom and found these
she kept begging me to buy them
i had to explain that you can't have everything
but she can borrow mine when she wants to

hiking the y

we went for a little hike up Y mountain
hazel's first
she basically slept right through it
oh well, one way to get her to nap
which she is currently doing
what a difference it makes
for babies to take regular naps
thanks mom for pointing that out
and she is smiling
as in you look at her and smile and she does it back
makes me so happy

she has these little ears on the hat and everything
and was just conked out in her fav chair

family walk

on saturday it was so beautiful we couldn't resist
threw hazel in a little carrier we are borrowing from a friend
and wandered to the provo library
(you can get free movies, often strange movies, but free!)
and brandon and i each got a book
and a few movies
i even have one that teaches me to crochet!
ha...i've become so crafy...i need to get out of utah
my plan is to make hazel a little crocheted flower for a headband
...back to our walk
we had to take a pic to show the gorgeous mountains
and the pretty library in the background
it was so much fun
then amelia joined us on the way back and we had a waxing party
then that night brandon took me out
what a wonderful weekend!

first time we got a sitter...well....mom

this was actually a few weeks ago
February 9th I think
my mom was in town and watched hazel for the day
so brandon and I could go snowboarding
i was supposed to teach him
too bad i hadn't worked out like that in like 6 months
my quads killed
but i still succeeded in teaching him a few things
but he caught on so fast i didn't have to do much
we goofed around and played in the snow
and teased each other about our mad skills
and we made it back in one piece
note to self: next drive into the mountains
bring your 4 wheel drive car...

Date Night!

we went out on saturday
got a free coupon to go to smokehouse bbq
so i got a little gussied up
and brandon did a photo shoot
we shared these enormous portions of
rib, brisket, and a corned beef sandwich
it was soooo good and soooo much food!
although for a birthday coupon you would think they would sing
but to my dismay...no singing
oh well
