Shopping with my princess

Ever since Hazel found out that Christmas and her birthday were coming, she has been especially persuasive when we go shopping. At first it was frustrating and exhausting and now i just think it's cute and take pictures to document the 3 year old almost 4 year old emotions and deep desires.

Steele Fam Reunion

A couple weeks so we got to go to a reunion with all 20 of my family members. My parents rented a great big cabin in south Lake Tahoe and we spent the week with all my sisters and my kids or to see all their cousins. Apparently I forgot to take very many pics, but here are a few favs. 

Ice cream shop with the most massive portions!! A $5 double scoop fed my kids, myself, and my sister. My dad got a double scoop on a cone and looked so overwhelmed!

The cabin had a great climbing tree and the kids each took turns going just high enough to give each of the mothers a heavy dose of anxiety!

We went on a hike that turned into quite the adventure. It took 1.5 hours to find a parking spot, but the views from the car were so stunning we stuck with it. By the time we got to the base of the mountain we realized we were at a stunning beach and forgot our swimsuits. So we got creative and hazel wore desi's extra t shirt and he shirts she had under her dress. 

Neither of my kids seemed to mind the impromptu swim suits.

They caught on that I was snapping shots and started posing. Haha, love them so much! 

Usually Hazel and Ezra bicker like siblings and hazel plays with Blythe, but this week, they had a bunch of moments like this. They told me they were buddies and were holding hands for 5 min straight as we left family pics.

Belated Halloween Update

I had so much fun making the costumes for Halloween this year. We convinced hazel she was a jelly princess and she got really excited about it. Brandon got to join us for our church trunk or treat and then he went off to Asia for work for a week and a half. It felt silly to sit around so we spent Halloween in seattle with family. All the kids were so cute and we had some great sisters and mom nights. Hazel and Desi had a blast with their cousins and i had a great time spoiling them as much as I could in the short time we were there. There is also a picture thrown in there from a fantastic date night Brandon and I had at fright fest at six flags. It was amazing I felt like I was 16 again.

Happy Christmas!!

We love Christmas at the Davey house and we have already been celebrating for a few weeks. This morning it was Santa Pancakes. Thank you to Lindsey for the suggestion via pinterest!

Desi's new face

He started doing this new grumpy/disgusted face last week. It cracks me up while making me aware that the terrible twos will attack even my sweet, happy, giggly boy.

Six flags day and the space center

I love having season passes and that we got such a great deal on them. We went for a few hours Saturday morning and had a blast and within seconds of getting in the car both kids passed out. Went ended up meeting up with the Griffin family at the space center (I watched all 6 kids while Sarah, Jared, and Brandon went to the temple 10 minutes away). It was...an adventure. Then we had dinner at this fun little Ethiopian restaurant a few miles away. It was a bit of a different experience with kids but still really delicious.

Summer time!!

Apparently my goal of daily blog posts totally dropped off when "summer" started and I went to Utah to be there when Amelia and Lawrence graduated from BYU. From now on I am going to simplify and do periodic updates on what is going on.

I love summer days at the park. We go and burn off some energy and have a picnic. Last week we dog sat for some friends and would take the dogs for a walk. Desi Q was in heaven and walked around all day pointing and going "doggy!" "woof, woof!". He also says hot, mommy, daddy, sis, ball, and a few others that are escaping me.
